When a user visits a publisher's website and clicks an advertiser's creative ad, the visitor's browser receives your cookie with your specific AID that identifies the you as the referral affiliate, and their location and browser type, to give you earnings based on the number of people you refer to the site as well as the geo location of that person using your cookie, as different geo locations are worth different amounts. This data is stored within the link information in what are called "parameters" and can include even more anonymous data used for attribution.
